Vegan & Cruelty Free Lipgloss
Deciding to make the switch to vegan and cruelty free makeup can be extremely daunting. Figuring out whether or not a brand is cruelty free is one thing, and finding their products that don’t contain animal by-products is another. Even brands that claim vegan formulas may not be cruelty free. Finding vegan lipgloss can be especially difficult, because so many intensely moisturising ingredients come from animal by-products.
I wrote about a couple of my favourite vegan lipglosses in a recent post about my favourite vegan lip products. For this post, I’ve chosen a whole new collection of my favourite vegan and cruelty free lipglosses! Read on to find your next best friend in lipgloss…
Cruelty Free & Vegan Lipgloss
This Glossier vegan and cruelty free lip gloss boasts a high-shine formula ‘without the stickiness’. It contains vitamin E and Jojoba Oil to keep your lips moisturised for long wear. You can purchase this in four different colours: clear, holographic, red or (limited edition) gold. This gloss comes in with a hoard of amazing reviews at just £11. You can also save £5 by purchasing a set of three for £28.
Best for: a high-shine finish
This vegan and cruelty free lip product by Tarte almost doesn’t fall under the category of lipgloss. Tarte hails it as an all-in-one lip balm, gloss, treatment and colour. Normally I would have been hesitant to buy something that claims to do it all, but its’ reviews are off the charts. Although it’s one of the more expensive products on this list at £18, it’s well worth it if you’re looking for your holy grail cruelty free and vegan lip gloss.
Best for: an all-rounder
This vegan and cruelty free lip plumping gloss by Morphe is the most expensive on this list, but for good reason. Morphe say: “Ready for the ultimate combo of non-sticky gloss and plumping power?”. This vegan lip gloss is formulated with menthol to plump your lips and give you an irresistible pout. You can buy this Lip Plumping Gloss for £19 in a range of six different shades.
Best for: a high-end plumping gloss
This vegan lipgloss by e.l.f. is super affordable and has a tonne of amazing reviews online. For just £3 (!) you can buy this in a range of shades, including a clear gloss and a shimmer gloss. You can see swatches of each of these shades on a range of skin tones on their website. All e.l.f. products are free from phthalates, parabens, nonylphenol ethoxylates, triclosan, triclocarban, and hydroquinone. Especially when it comes to your lips, it’s important to know what’s going into your beauty products!
Best for: low-cost
The Body Shop isn’t known for its super affordable products, so it was a surprise to me that this Shine Lip Liquid was just £7. This product provides a non-sticky, long-lasting colour enriched with jojoba oil, marula oil and argan oil. Another great option if your lips dry easily!
Best for: if you want to know where your ingredients come from
