Barry M Cruelty Free Declaration & Which Products are Vegan

Barry M Cruelty Free Banner

Barry M is a low-to-mid range beauty brand, most often known for their amazing range of cruelty free nail polishes. They also do a great range of cruelty free makeup and – my favourite – cruelty free biodegradable body glitter.

Is Barry M Cruelty Free?

Yes! Barry M are a part of Humane Society International’s Be Cruelty Free campaign, which includes making sure their ingredients aren’t tested on animals and refusing to sell in China and any other markets that require animal testing. This means that Barry M are cruelty free. Their website reads:

“All companies in our supply chain must provide us with annual written assurance that no product or ingredient used in Barry M products has been newly animal tested by them.”

Do Barry M Have Vegan Products?

It’s super easy to shop vegan with Barry M online; there’s a tab on their homepage that takes you straight to their range of vegan products, which are each marked with this symbol:

They state that just 3% of their products are not vegan friendly, but they aim to be 100% vegan by early 2020. Update June 2020: Barry M haven’t updated this page since November 1st 2019, which indicates this target wasn’t achieved.

They Might be Cruelty Free, but are Barry M a Sustainable Brand?

Although Barry M don’t seem to be doing much about their plastic packaging, they do have a range of cruelty free makeup that supports the  David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation (DSWF). At least 20% of the profits from these items go to the DSWF. Each cruelty free palette is inspired by an animal, and profits from each palette support the feature animal.
